Excellent school! Small class sizes, very active and involved teachers, good leadership. Teachers notice students strengths and weaknesses and encourage them to grow. Very individualized.

Eddyville is a class act. Mr.McDonald is a true leader and educator. There is a reason why there is a long waiting list -- the children are treated as individuals and taught to think critically. They have fun while they are learning. There is very little need for discipline, because the culture is one of respect for all. The teachers are the kind of role models that I want my son to have. He is graduating this year; he is ready to face adulthood and the next steps in his journey.

We love the Eddyville school. We are very impressed with the high quality education and my daughter is thriving. As far as a parent stating, 'they 'get away with' a lot' - the school is not a police academy. Ultimately, (begins at home), Parents' responsibility to be involved in education and aware of 'other activities' that need the appropriate action. The school is involved, helpful, supportive and cooperative. The teachers are Extremely aware of each individual personality, needs, talents, shortcomings, etc.. I would highly recommend attendance, but it is so popular, I beleive registration is limited :-)

About the Tests

  • In 2006-2007 Oregon used the Oregon Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (OAKS) to test students in grades 3 through 8 and 10 in reading and math and in grades 4, 7 and 10 in writing.
  • The OAKS is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Oregon.
  • The goal is for all students to score at or above the state standard.
