Welcome back!
We return this week from what I hope was a memorable and enjoyable vacation. As nice as a break is, it's always good to get back into the "groove" and have the kids back in the building.
We have a new staff member starting this month, as Mr. Ekins has finished his time here at Eddyville as the PE teacher. He will be wrapping up his school administrator license in the next couple months and then moving on to pursue a new chapter in his life. He will still be around the school for the next few months working on finishing up his schooling and helping with various things administratively. Mr. Ekins has been a great PE teacher for us for the past 12 years and we will miss him, but we certainly wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors!
Replacing Mr. Ekins is our new PE teacher, Mr. Bruce, a former WOU student and basketball player for the Wolves. He has moved back to our area from Texas to be closer to his son and he is excited to be joining our team here. He brings a wealth of experience in working with kids, both as a basketball coach and as a PE instructor.
January is a busy month that is chock-full of activities and events, mostly basketball! We are hitting the ground running this week with middle school boys starting up practice and all the other teams playing games! Keep an eye out for Karla's announcements to keep up with all we have going on!
Go Eagles!
